Firstly this church of Our Lady of Snow founded Charles IV. after his coronation. It happened in September 3, 1347. Originally, the temple was 100 meters long, 40 meters high and decorated with 2 towers. It was supposed to be a kind of competitor of the St. Vitus cathedral.
In 1379, the part that stands today was consecrated. Later the Hussite Wars interrupted the follow-up work, and in 1566 even the original vault of the church fell. In 1603 Franciscans received the entire monastery. In 1611, a fanatical group of Praguers attacked the order and killed 14 monks there. The church was finally finished in 1625 and the final height was 31.5 meters. The rest of the monastery buildings are in the Baroque style.
In the monastery complex there is also a garden, which is a pleasant place to sit and relax in the summer. Exhibitions also take place in the monastery. You can visit the church daily.
